Temporarily Disable Visually.io

How to Locally disable Visually.io scripts for Troubleshooting

In cases where you would like to determine if an issue is caused by a Visually widget or running test, we can temporarily opt out and exclude Visually's impact by adding the query parameter ?kill_visually=1 to the website URL.

Keep in mind that adding ?kill_visually=1 is not permanent. It is not sticky and will only affect the current page.

Once it is added in the URL, it will disable any running scripts from Visually.io, effectively removing widgets, and disable any running tests in that page.

What is ?kill_visually=1?

?kill_visually=1 is a query parameter that can be added to your website's URL to temporarily disable all Visually.io scripts on a specific page load.

This includes widgets, A/B tests, or any other scripts injected by Visually. When this parameter is present in the URL, the page behaves as if Visually.io is not installed, helping isolate issues or conflicts caused by those scripts.

By removing the influence of Visually.io scripts with the query parameter, you can confirm whether an issue is related to Visually or stems from another part of your website. It provides a fast, non-destructive way to rule out Visually.io without uninstalling the app or disabling the integration.
