How to Show Shopify’s Theme Preview Bar

When previewing a draft or development Shopify theme, you may want to see Shopify’s theme preview bar so you can easily confirm that you're viewing the correct theme rather than your live production theme.

Why is the Shopify preview bar hidden?

Visually automatically hides Shopify’s theme preview bar when Theme Testing functionality is enabled.

This is intentional. During a theme test, visitors may be directed to a test theme, and the preview bar is hidden so those visitors don't see Shopify's theme preview banner.

How to show the preview bar

To display Shopify’s theme preview bar while working on a draft or development theme, add the following query parameter to the page URL:

?vsly-hide-theme-preview=1

For example:

https://your-store.com/?vsly-hide-theme-preview=1

The page will reload with Shopify’s theme preview bar visible.
